Saint Joseph's Health is seeking physician candidates to join a growing Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. Full time positions are available. Those interested in a nocturnist position or per diem work are welcome to apply. The majority of clinical activity will be within critical care. Medical School academic appointment is available.
Candidates must have an MD or DO or foreign equivalent degree. They must be eligible for an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of New Jersey. Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine or Critical Care Medicine board eligibility at the time of hire is required.
St. Joseph's Health has a 150 year history of providing outstanding care. Multiple in and out-patient facilities are located in Northern New Jersey. The main campus is located approximately 12 miles from Manhattan in Paterson NJ. In- patient facilities include a 651 bed tertiary care university hospital. Saint Joseph's Emergency Department is one of the busiest in the country. A state designated trauma center, cardiothoracic surgery, neurosurgery, advanced stroke center and interventional cardiology programs are present. A Critical Care Tower houses modern state of the art facilities. Twenty eight MICU beds are located in the Critical Care Tower. A modern simulation center is located on the main campus. A 229 bed community hospital with a 16 bed Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit is located approximately 5 miles from the main campus. Approximately 2100 patients are admitted to the Critical Care Service yearly. Multiple residencies and fellowships are present, including a Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine Fellowship. In addition for full time hospital employed attending physicians the Division has 9 fellows and 7 acute care APNs. The Division is responsible for ...the Pulmonary and Critical Care education of residents from Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine and Family Practice Residencies. Attending physicians lead the inter-disciplinary team in our ICUs. Attending physicians also provide care via an active critical care consult service. Participation in the Pulmonary Consult service and clinic is available.
St. Joseph's is a five time recipient of the Magnet Award for Nursing Excellence. The MICU has received the Beacon Award for Excellence in Critical Care Nursing. In addition to providing care to patients in our ICUs, a very active Critical Care Consult service, Pulmonary Consult services, Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program and a growing Sleep Medicine Program are present.
In addition to salary the generous compensation package for full time staff includes paid time off, paid CME time, CME stipend, RVU generation compensation, insurance plans and 403B retirement plan.
