Seeking BC Nephrology Physician for Excellent VA Staff Opportunity in Beautiful Fresno, CA Position Information The VA Central California Health Care System in Fresno, CA is actively recruiting to fill a 0.50 FTE Board Certified Staff Nephrology Physician (BE considered) to provide comprehensive outpatient & inpatient Nephrology service including diagnosing and treating all types of diseases and conditions related to acute, chronic, and end stage kidney disease, hypertension, fluid, electrolyte and acid-base disorders. You will develop treatment plans for the above disorders, including but not limited to dialysis (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, continuous renal replacement therapy) and supervise dialysis treatment sessions. You will round on hospitalized patients, attending in clinics, writing of prescription medications, writing for consultative services, diet instruction, and other physician-driven or exclusive decisions. You will work collaboratively with other specialists as necessary in providing the best care to Veterans Selected candidate will be considered for a faculty appointment at the University of California San Francisco Fresno and will be involved in education & training of Internal Medicine residents in our residency program plus medical students, medicine residents & other providers. VA Central California Health Care System (VACCHCS), located in Fresno, California, is part of VA Sierra Pacific Network (VISN21), which includes facilities in California, Nevada, and Hawaii. VACCHCS is a 114-bed acute care, general medical and surgical center with state of the art primary, secondary and tertiary care in major diagnostic, and treatment specializations. In addition, a 60-bed Community Living Center (CLC) is located on campus and provides skilled nursing and rehabilitation care. VACCHCS has 40,000 Veterans currently enrolled for health care eligibility and serves more than 28,000 Veterans in six counties in California’s San Joaquin Valley. The six counties include Tulare, Kings, Fresno, Madera, Merced and Mariposa. Work Schedule: As a 0.5 FTE position, the schedule would involve 20 hours per week on an adjustable basis depending upon the needs of nephrology section. A typical schedule would require work Monday-Friday with evenings and/or weekends as per the needs.
